ومن المتوخى أن تظل قوات التحالف في البلاد لبعض الوقت، بناء على طلب الحكومة المؤقتة العراقية لمساعدة هذه الحكومة على صون القانون والحفاظ على النظام وضمان أمن البلاد والدفاع عنها.

It is envisaged that, at the request of the Interim Iraqi Government, Coalition forces will remain in the country for some time to help the Interim Government maintain law and order and to safeguard the security and defence of the country.
