A bidirectional turbine blade including: a blade root and blade tip; a first face and a second face running between the blade root and blade tip; a cross-sectional profile which is symmetrical about a chord line extending between longitudinal edges of the blade; and a twist of between about 5 and 35 degrees from the chord line, wherein the blade is capable of driving an underwater turbine from flowing water incident at the first face or the second face.

L'invention porte sur une pale de turbine bidirectionnelle qui comprend : une emplanture de pale et une pointe de pale; une première face et une seconde face s'étendant entre l'emplanture de pale et la pointe de pale; un profil de section transversale qui est symétrique autour d'une corde s'étendant entre des bords longitudinaux de la pale, et une torsion comprise entre environ 5 et 35 degrés par rapport à la corde, la pale pouvant entraîner une turbine sous l'eau à partir d'eau en écoulement incidente sur la première face ou sur la seconde face.
