ولدى اختيار المواضيع الجديدة ينبغي أن تولي اللجنة مزيداً من مراعاة احتياجات المجتمع الدولي وأن تولي كذلك اهتماماً عميقاً بآراء اللجنة السادسة بشأن أعمالها، وأن تدرج ضمن أولوياتها المواضيع التي توفِّر التوجيه العملي للمجتمع الدولي، وتعمل على إدراج المواضيع الأكاديمية والتقنية الرفيعة بأسلوب يتوخّى الحذر مع مواصلة أداء دور مهم في تدوين القانون الدولي وتطويره التدريجي.

In the selection of new topics, the Commission should give more consideration to the needs of the international community, pay close attention to the Sixth Committee’s views on its work, prioritize topics that would provide practical guidance to the international community, treat the inclusion of highly academic and technical topics with caution and continue to play an important role in the codification and progressive development of international law.

En la elección de nuevos temas la Comisión de Derecho Internacional debería tener más en cuenta las necesidades de la comunidad internacional, prestar mucha atención a las opiniones expresadas por la Sexta Comisión sobre su labor, dar prioridad a temas que ofrezcan una orientación práctica a la comunidad internacional, tratar con cautela la inclusión de temas de carácter muy académico y técnico y seguir desempeñando una importante función en la codificación y el desarrollo progresivo del derecho internacional.

Dans le choix des nouveaux sujets, la CDI doit tenir davantage compte des besoins de la communauté internationale, en accordant une attention rigoureuse aux vues exprimées sur ses travaux à la Sixième Commission, en traitant en priorité des sujets susceptibles de fournir des orientations pratiques à la communauté internationale et en prenant garde à ne pas retenir de sujets hautement académiques et techniques, et continuer à jouer un rôle important dans la codification et le développement progressif du droit international.

При выборе новых тем Комиссии следует более тщательно учитывать потребности международного сообщества, уделять больше внимания мнениям Шестого комитета о ее работе, определять приоритетные темы, рассмотрение которых позволит международному сообществу получить практическое руководство к действиям, с осторожностью относиться к включению в программу работы чисто научных и технических тем и продолжать играть важную роль в кодификации и прогрессивном развитии международного права.
