The flowers of the Heliconia, pendulous, or upright, strike for the odd zigzagging structures, but the park offers botanical curiosities for all the tastes: from the fruits of the Crescentia alata they get the maracas, the well known musical instruments of the Caribbean; the flowers of the Haemanthus coccineus come out, blazing, like mushrooms, from the bare land; the Candle Tree (Parmentiera edulis), richer than a grocery, shows its goods on the branches; and, between the grasses of the park, like a violet, can blossom a disrespectful leguminosae, the Clitoria rubiginosa, with name and shape recalling the feminine anatomy.

Las flores de las Heliconia, pendientes o erguidos, sorprenden por las extrañas estructuras zigzagueantes, pero el parque ofrece curiosidades botánicas para todos los gustos: desde los frutos de la Crescentia alata se sacan las maracas, los bien conocidos instrumentos musicales del Caribe; las flores de los Haemanthus coccineus aparecen encendidas, como setas, de la desnuda tierra; el Árbol de las velas (Parmentiera edulis) más dotado que una tienda de comestibles, expone su mercancía sobre las ramas; y entre las hierbas del parque como una violeta, puede florecer una leguminosa irreverente, la Clitoria rubiginosa, de nombre y forma evocadores de la anatomía femenina.
