Der erste Bahnhof von Mannheim wurde nördlich der jetzigen Anlage bei der heutigen Straßenbahnhaltestelle „Tattersall“ angelegt, um eine Weiterführung nach Norden zu ermöglichen, die jedoch nicht zustande kam.
