وفي ضوء تراكم الأدلة المتعلقة بجزر تركس وكايكوس والمدعومة بالاستنتاجات التي توصلت إليها إحدى لجان التحقيق، أنفذ الحاكم في 14 آب/أغسطس عام 2009 قانوناً يقضي بجملة أمور منها تعليق العمل بأجزاء من دستور عام 2006 وإقالة حكومة الوزراء ومجلس النواب.

In the light of the accumulation of evidence in relation to the Turks and Caicos Islands and fortified by the findings of a commission of inquiry, on 14 August 2009 the Governor brought into force legislation that, inter alia, suspended parts of the 2006 Constitution, removing the ministerial government and the House of Assembly.

Habida cuenta de la acumulación de pruebas relacionadas con las Islas Turcas y Caicos reforzadas por las conclusiones de una comisión de investigación, el 14 de agosto de 2009 el Gobernador promulgó una ley que, entre otras cosas, dejó sin efecto algunas partes de la Constitución de 2006, suspendiendo los poderes del Gabinete y la Asamblea.

На основе собранных по островам Тёркс и Кайкос данных, подтвержденных выводами комиссии по изучению вопроса, 14 августа 2009 года губернатор ввел в действие законодательный акт, в соответствии с которым, в частности, приостанавливалось действие некоторых разделов Конституции 2006 года, в результате чего были расформированы кабинет министров и Палата собрания.
