The Cape sugarbird seems to be present in all stands of non-creeping Leucospermum species, but the malachite sunbird Nectarinia famosa, southern double-collared sunbird Cinnyris chalybeus and orange-breasted sunbird Anthobaphes violacea are locally also important pollinators.

De Kaapse suikervogel lijkt aanwezig te zijn in alle populaties van niet-kruipende Leucospermum-soorten, maar de emeraldhoningzuiger Nectarinia famosa, de kleine kraaghoningzuiger Cinnyris chalybeus en de oranjeborsthoningzuiger Anthobaphes violacea zijn lokaal ook belangrijke bestuivers.
