وفيما يتعلق بقاع البحر العميق، نظم معهد علوم المحيطات ومؤسسة الأمير ألبير الثاني مؤتمراً بعنوان ”البحار العميقة، رحلة في عالم مجهول“، قام باستكشاف التنوع البيولوجي في قاع البحر العميق، واستغلال موارده المعدنية وموارد الطاقة فيه، إضافةً إلى مسائل تتعلق بالحوكمة.

With respect to the deep seabed, last October our Oceanographic Institute — the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation — organized a conference entitled “The Deep Seas, Journey into an Unknown World”, which explored the biodiversity of the deep seabed, the exploitation of their mineral and energetic resources, and issues of governance.

Con respecto a los fondos marinos, el pasado mes de octubre nuestro Instituto Oceanográfico y la Fundación Príncipe Alberto II de Mónaco organizaron una conferencia titulada “Los fondos marinos: viaje a un mundo desconocido”, en la que se estudió la diversidad biológica de los fondos marinos, la explotación de sus recursos minerales y energéticos y las cuestiones relativas a la gobernanza.

Что касается глубоководных районов морского дна, то в октябре этого года Институт океанографии и Фонд князя Монако Альбера II организовали конференцию под названием «Глубоководные районы: путешествие в неизведанный мир», на которой обсуждались вопросы биоразнообразия глубоководных районов морского дна, освоения их минеральных и энергетических ресурсов, а также вопросы управления.
