A vaccine against a RNA virus, which may be a picorna virus, an orthomyxovirus or a retrovirus, is prepared by infecting host cells with the virus, incubating the infected cells for a time and at a temperature which is insufficient to result in lysis of the cells, separating the nuclei of the cells intact from their cytoplasmic fraction, and stabilizing viral antigenic proteins in the cytoplasmic fraction, the stabilized proteins providing the active constituent of the vaccine.

On prépare un vaccin contre un virus de l'ARN, pouvant être un picornavirus, un orthomyxovirus ou un rétrovirus, par contamination de cellules hôtes à l'aide dudit virus, incubation des cellules contaminées pendant une période de temps donné, et à une température insuffisante pour obtenir la lyse des cellules, par séparation des noyaux des cellules intactes de leur fraction cytoplasmique, et par stabilisation des protéines antigéniques virales se trouvant dans la fraction cytoplasmique, les protéines stabilisées produisant le composant actif du vaccin.
