Die Anamnese ist je nach Lokalisation unterschiedlich, bei den bevorzugt suprasellär liegenden Germinomen sind Verläufe von mehreren Monaten bis Jahren bekannt, Pinealistumoren werden aufgrund des erhöhten Hirndrucks oft früher diagnostiziert.

Medical history depends on tumor site. In germinoma, which predominantly appear in the suprasellar region, the time to diagnosis can be several months to years. Tumors of the pineal region are diagnosed earlier because of the appearance of raised intracranial pressure.
