In October 2007, in a letter to the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Myanmar and the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar, IPI and other members of the Burma Action Group expressed their concern over the death of journalists in the recent crackdown, arrest and continued detention of members of the Burmese media, the reported suspension of private newspapers in Yangon, and the Government’s cutting of access to the Internet.

En octobre 2007, dans une lettre adressée au Conseiller spécial du Secrétaire général pour le Myanmar et au Rapporteur spécial sur la situation des droits de l’homme au Myanmar, l’IIP et d’autres membres du Burma Action Group ont exprimé leur inquiétude concernant le décès de journalistes lors d’une récente descente de police qui s’est conclue par l’arrestation et le placement en détention de journalistes birmans, la suspension des journaux privés de Yangon et la coupure d’accès à Internet du Gouvernement.
