[Problem] To provide an electric toothbrush that: is capable of ensuring the ease of a manual brushing operation by making a handle part thinner, while improving the ease of a switching operation between an operating state and a stopped state; and achieves efficient oral cavity cleaning by automatically providing necessary and sufficient mechanical assistance to a brush part in response to brushing conditions that constantly change during brushing, such as cleaning location, and the way of holding and moving the toothbrush.
