Subject to article 21 and paragraph 4 of the present article, and regardless of the action brought against him, the carrier shall under no circumstances be liable for amounts exceeding 666.67 units of account per package or other loading unit, or 2 units of account per kilogram of weight, specified in the transport document, of the goods lost or damaged, whichever is the higher.

Con sujeción a lo dispuesto en el artículo 21 y en el párrafo 4 del presente artículo, e independientemente de la acción que se interponga en su contra, el porteador no será bajo ninguna circunstancia responsable de cantidades que excedan de 666,67 unidades de cuenta por bulto u otra unidad de carga, o de 2 unidades de cuenta por kilogramo de peso, según se especifique en el documento de transporte, de mercaderías perdidas o dañadas, si esta última cantidad es más alta.
