Third row to the left shows a female A. rostratus guarding her eggs in silty backwater, and to the right a pair of Hypsophrys nicaraguense where the male is normally much larger than the female, they dig caves to place their non-adhesive eggs as can be seen in the picture left in the last row, where to the right you see a breeding pair of Neetroplus nematopus, which show breeding black with a white bar.

La tercera fila a la izquierda muestra una hembra A. rostratus cuidando sus huevecillos en agua con sedimentos, y a la derecha una pareja de Hypsophrys nicaraguensis en donde el macho es normalmente mucho mas grande que la hembra, ellos excavan cuevas para colocar sus huevecillos no adhesivos como se puede ver en la foto a la izquierda en fila, a la derecha puedes ver una pareja en cría de Neetroplus nematopus, quienes muestran el color de reproducción negro con una barra vertical blanca.
