وهكذا شرعت الشرطة الوطنية في تنفيذ المسؤوليات الأساسية المتصلة بأعمال الشرطة في أيار/مايو 2009 في مقاطعة لوتيم، أعقبه تسليم مقاطعتَي أوكوسي وماناتوتو، ومركز تدريب الشرطة، ومقاطعة فيكيكي، والوحدة البحرية ودائرة الاستخبارات الوطنية بحلول عام 2009.

The resumption of primary policing responsibilities by PNTL commenced in May 2009 in Lautem district, and the Oecussi and Manatuto districts, the Police Training Centre, Viqueque district, the Maritime Unit and the National Intelligence Service were handed over by the end of 2009.
