چهرهء مفرغ ین مرد و موی درهم، ریش سرخ، کلاه خشن و قرمز، لباس زمخت ساخته شده از پارچهء دست بافت و پوست جانوران، پیکر ستبری که بر اثر ضیق معشیت تکیده بود، و برهم فشردگی خالی از امید لبها به هنگام خفتن در کارگر راهدار رعب و وحشتی برانگیخته بود.
