히에이잔까지는 데마치야나기역에서 야세히에이잔구치(八瀬比叡山口)역까지 약 15분이면 도착한다. 야세 일대는 신록과 단풍이 아름다우며, 근처의 루리코인(瑠璃光院)은 봄과 가을에 특별공개를 한다.야세에서 일본에서 경사가 가장 심한 에이잔 케이블카, 그리고 로프웨이로 갈아타면 15분 정도면 단숨에 표고 840m의 히에이잔 정상에 도착. 정상은 교토 시가지와 비교하면 기온이 6°C 정도 낮아서 공기가 차게 느껴질지도 모른다. > 지도
