A process for producing a masterbatch which includes: a step in which an ionomer that is an ethylene/unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer at least partly neutralized with potassium is melt-kneaded together with a hydrophobic polymer formed from a hydrocarbon compound; and a step in which after the melt kneading, the mixture is dried at a temperature not lower than the Vicat softening point of the ionomer.
