ويعلم قضاة المحكمة الدولية ليوغوسلافيا السابقة أنهم ليسوا فوق القانون، وأنهم القيّمون على نظام العدالة، وأنه ينبغي مساءلتهم عن أي إخلال بالواجبات الأخلاقية أو المهنية.
