Mit dieser Zusammenstellung von Erfahrungen aus der Balint-Gruppenarbeit mit Schmerzmedizinern und als Psychosomatiker in einer Schmerzambulanz sollen schlaglichtartig die inneren Horizonte von Arzt und Patient beleuchtet werden, die die an sich schon schwierige Aufgabe der Behandlung chronisch schmerzleidender Menschen zusätzlich durch Affekte, Reaktionen und Haltungen komplizieren können.

This compilation of experiences gathered in Balint groups consisting of physicians involved in treatment of chronic pain aims to briefly show the inner horizons of both doctor and patient, which, by their emotions, reactions, and attitudes, complicate the already difficult task of treating individuals suffering from chronic pain.
