«When you give a lunch or a dinner, don't invite your friends, or your brothers and relatives and wealthy neighbors. For surely they will also invite you in return and you will be repaid» (Lk 14:12). Christians move about in this world as any other person; but the fundamental purpose to deal with our neighbor cannot be either humans rewards or the vainglory; over everything else, we have to seek the Glory of God pretending no other recompense than Heaven.

«Cuando des una comida o una cena, no llames a tus amigos, ni a tus hermanos, ni a tus parientes, ni a tus vecinos ricos; no sea que ellos te inviten a su vez, y tengas ya tu recompensa» (Lc 14,12). El cristiano se mueve en el mundo como una persona corriente; pero el fundamento del trato con sus semejantes no puede ser ni la recompensa humana ni la vanagloria; debe buscar ante todo la gloria de Dios, sin pretender otra recompensa que la del Cielo.
