From June 2010 - August 2015 she was the first Ombudsperson for the UN Security Council's Al-Qaeda Sanctions Committee, tasked with advising the Committee and making recommendations on requests from individuals or organisations who are subject to global sanctions, such as asset freezes and travel bans, as a result of "listing" by this committee.
