Η ιδιαίτερη σημασία της θήρας δεν οφείλεται μόνο στα όσα αντιπροσωπεύει γι' αυτούς που επιδίδονται σ' αυτήν, αλλά και στο γεγονός ότι άπτεται του δικαιώματος ιδιοκτησίας, της ασφάλειας των προσώπων και της διατηρήσεως του περιβάλλοντος και των ζωικών ειδών, που αποτελούν αγαθά θεωρούμενα ως κοινή κληρονομιά που πρέπει να διαφυλαχθεί και να κληροδοτηθεί στις επόμενες γενεές.
