وأحيي أيضا الجهود الدبلوماسية الدؤوبة التي بذلتها الهيئة الحكومية الدولية المعنية بالتنمية بقيادة رئيس وسطائها المتفاني الجنرال لازاروس سومبيو، إذ كانت تلك الجهود حاسمة في التوصل إلى الاتفاق النهائي، وأشكر الحكومة الكينية، على دعمها المتواصل للمفاوضات، وأشكر الحكومات الأخرى، وبخاصة حكومات المجموعة المراقبة للعملية السلمية، لما قدمته من مساعدات كبيرة

I also hail the relentless diplomatic efforts of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, led by its indefatigable Chief Mediator, General Lazarus Sumbeiywo, which were instrumental in bringing about a final agreement, and I thank the Government of Kenya for its sustained support for the negotiations, and other Governments, in particular those of the troika, for their substantial assistance
