There are several pipeline projects at various stages of elaboration with the purpose of bypassing the Turkish Straights in supplies of crude oil from Asia to Europe — such as the Burgas-Alexandroupolis Pipeline (BAP), Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TAP) or PanEuropean Oil Pipeline (PEOP).
