In this review article, I will summarize the main effects of N deposition on several biological groups that typically define all terrestrial ecosystems (microorganisms, cryptogams, vascular plants and invertebrates), as well as on the physicochemical properties of soils that, in turn, exert a key influence on the abundance, composition and activity of the organisms that live on them.

En este artículo revisaré los principales efectos de la deposición de N sobre varios grupos biológicos que típicamente componen los ecosistemas terrestres (microorganismos, criptógamas, plantas vasculares e invertebrados), así como sobre las propiedades fisicoquímicas del suelo que, a su vez, ejercen una influencia clave sobre la abundancia, composición y actividad de los organismos que se desarrollan sobre él.
