Bis zum 3. Lebensjahrzehnt gelingt es recht gut, das Alter eines Individuums anhand der histomorphologischen Befunde zu bestimmen; mit höherem Alter ergibt sich dann aber eine zunehmende Ungenauigkeit, die Schwankungen um ein Jahrzehnt oder mehr beinhalten kann.

Up to the third decade of life one succeeds rather well to decide the age of an individual person depending on the state of morphology. In advanced age there is an increasing uncertainty with deviations of a decade or more.
