Der findes kun to muligheder: En betænkning, der uden hensyntagen til noget forsøger at beskrive situationen, eller en, der bagatelliserer, udvælger, dækker over, der lader som om, at det, der sker hertillands, kun er en tilgivelig synd, helt efter mottoet, sammenlignet med situationen andre steder går det os dog ganske godt i Den Europæiske Union.

There are only two options: a report which tries to describe the situation accurately, without concern for sensitivities; or one which plays down, covers up and glosses over, which treats what happens in our own countries as at most a pardonable sin, on the basis of the maxim that, compared to the situation elsewhere, things are not so bad in the European Union.

Er zijn slechts twee mogelijkheden: een verslag waarin, zonder gevoeligheden te ontzien, geprobeerd wordt de situatie te omschrijven, of een verslag dat bagatelliseert, selecteert, verzwijgt en doet of hetgeen hier bij ons gebeurt hooguit een vergeeflijke zonde is, volgens het motto dat de situatie, in vergelijking met elders, in de Europese Unie toch best goed is.
