The meeting was attended by representatives from the two main Brazilian official research institutions- the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and the Institute of Applied Economic Research (IPEA)- and could count on the presence of the High Commissioner of the United Nations for Human Rights, Mrs. Louise Arbour, and of an expert of the Office of the High Commissioner on that subject, Mr. Rajeev Malhotra
