Concerning the situation in the Ferrol estuary, the Commission is currently investigating the lack of compliance with the waste water treatment requirements under Directive 91/271/EC(1) by two large agglomerations discharging in this estuary, namely Ferrol-Narón and Ares-Mugardos-Fene.
