ولاحظ فريق المراقبين التابع للكمنولث وجزر المحيط الهادئ أن البعض رأوا أن تخصيص ثلاثة مقاعد للنساء فقط قد يؤدي دون قصد إلى تهميشهن في العملية، ورأى المراقبون أنه ينبغي في المستقبل تشجيع النساء على الترشح لمقاعد الدوائر العامة، وأوصوا بدراسة أسباب انخفاض عدد المرشحات للدوائر الانتخابية، بهدف حث عدد أكبر من النساء على الترشح في الانتخابات القادمة( ).

As noted by the Commonwealth and Pacific islands Observer Group, some people suggested that allocating three seats specifically for women may have had an unintended effect of marginalising them within the process, and the Observers were of the view that women should be encouraged in future to contest general constituency seats and recommended that the reasons for the low numbers of women candidates contesting constituency seats be examined, with a view to encouraging a larger number of women to contest future elections.
