إن استعمار إسرائيل والعقاب الجماعي الظالم للشعب الفلسطيني يمحو بسرعة الآمال والاعتقاد بأن السلام ممكن على أساس حل الدولتين، الذي لا يلتزم به الجانب الفلسطيني فحسب، بل والتزم به المجتمع الدولي واستثمر فيه بشكل كبير.
