It asked that Italy rectify this situation by eliminating all forms of discrimination against minorities and migrants and ensuring equal opportunities for the enjoyment of economic, social and cultural rights; that it take administrative and legal measures against perpetrators of racially-motivated acts; and that it ratify the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture in order to permit the Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture to conduct visits to places of detention, including reclusion centres for migrants and asylum seekers.

Pidió a Italia que rectificara esa situación eliminando todas las formas de discriminación de las minorías y los migrantes y garantizando la igualdad de oportunidades para el disfrute de los derechos económicos, sociales y culturales; adoptara medidas administrativas y jurídicas contra los autores de actos perpetrados por motivos racistas; y ratificara el Protocolo Facultativo de la Convención contra la Tortura para que el Subcomité para la Prevención de la Tortura y Otros Tratos o Penas Crueles, Inhumanos o Degradantes pudiera efectuar visitas a los lugares de privación de libertad, incluidos los establecimientos de reclusión para migrantes y solicitantes de asilo.
