The letter of 15 September from François Lamoureux, Director-General of the Energy and Transport DG, to Mr Rainer Masera concerning the delays in the construction of the Venaus tunnel states that this situation is highly damaging to the very credibility of the project at a time in which the Commission is preparing to determine the multi-annual financing plan for the period 2007‐2013, and that the Commission could be compelled to revise downwards its support under the financial perspective for 2007‐2013.
