(ii) The global radioactive fallout from atmospheric nuclear weapons tests conducted over the periods 1952–1958 and 1961–1962 represents a source of continuing exposure even today, albeit at extremely low levels except in nuclear test areas where radioactive residues are considerable at some sites.
