Softskull Press started in a Kinkos in 1993, with two people who were employees working the graveyard shift laying out their book on Pagemaker, chopping it, chopping it, tape- binding it, and, over the course of about 8 weeks, they had 400 tapebound paperbacks to publish, and that the first Softskull book.
