وقد وردت على المقرر الخاص نداءات متكررة تدعوه فيها المنظمات غير الحكومية إلى أن ينظر في الالتزامات الواقعة على الشركات عبر الوطنية في مجال حقوق الإنسان في سياق تزايد سيطرتها على قطاع الأغذية بدءا بانتاجها وانتهاء بتسويقها بعد تجهيزها.

The Special Rapporteur has received repeated appeals from non-governmental organizations to examine the human rights obligations of transnational corporations in the context of their increasing control of the food sector, from production to the processing and marketing of food.
