Το παν ήταν κατάμαυρο στον ουρανό καθώς πετούσαμε πάνω από την πόλι και γυρίζαμε προς τα δυτικά, αλλά η λαμπρότης των πολυχρώμων φώτων κάτω πιστοποιούσε ότι το Μεξικό είναι πόλις συγχρονισμένη, που από ψηλά τη νύχτα δεν φαινόταν διαφορετική από οποιαδήποτε μεγάλη Αμερικανική πόλι.

All was pitch dark in the sky above as we flew over the city and circled to the west, but the brilliance of the multicolored lights below evidenced the fact that Mexico City is a modern city, appearing no different from the sky at night than any large American city might.

Il cielo al disopra di noi era immerso nelle tenebre mentre sorvolavamo la città virando verso occidente, ma il brillar delle luci multicolori al disotto mostrava che la Città di Messico è una città moderna, che non appare dal cielo di notte per nulla diversa da qualsiasi altra grande città americana.

In de lucht was alles pikdonker toen wij boven de stad vlogen en naar het Westen cirkelden, maar de schittering van de veelkleurige lichten beneden bewees dat de stad Mexico een moderne stad is, die van de lucht uit, ’s nachts, geen verschil toont met welke andere grote Amerikaanse stad ook.
