En 1825 va adquirir la totalitat dels manuscrits que pertanyien al Teatre alla Scala, i va començar a fer circular còpies manuscrites en modalitat de lloguer, que juntament amb la venda de les reduccions per a solistes i piano, van produir un nou tipus de demanda.
