Die Zahl der Menschen, die auf Christus warten, ist noch immer unendlich groß: Die menschlichen und kulturellen Räume, die von der Verkündigung des Evangeliums noch gar nicht erreicht worden sind oder wo die Kirche nur schwach präsent ist, sind so ausgedehnt, daß sie die Einheit aller ihrer Kräfte erfordern.

The number of those awaiting Christ is still immense: the human and cultural groups not yet reached by the Gospel, or for whom the Church is scarcely present, are so widespread as to require the uniting of all the Church's resources.
