وجاء في المادة 11 من ذات القانون على أن كل من أذاع بإحدى الطرق العلنية آراء تتضمن سخرية أو تحقيراً أو تصغيراً لدين أو مذهب ديني، سواء كـان ذلك بالطعن في عقائده أو في شعائره أو في طقوسه أو في تعاليمه، يعاقب بالحبس مدة لا تجاوز سنة واحدة وبغرامة لا تجاوز ألف روبية أو بإحدى هاتين العقوبتين.

Article 111 of the Code provides that whoever disseminates through the public media views that constitute ridicule, contempt or disparagement of a religion or religious sect, or an attack on the beliefs, precepts, rites or teachings of such religion or religious sect, shall be liable to a term of imprisonment of not more than one year, a fine of not more than 1 000 rupees, or both.

El artículo 111 del Código dispone que quien difunda, por un medio público, opiniones que ridiculicen, desprecien o denigren a una religión o secta religiosa, o que constituyan un ataque contra los dogmas, preceptos, ritos o enseñanzas de esta religión o secta, podrá ser condenado a una pena de prisión de hasta un año, una multa de hasta 1.000 rupias, o a ambas penas.

Conformément à l’article 11 du Code, quiconque diffuse, par un moyen public, des opinions qui ridiculisent ou méprisent une religion ou un groupement religieux ou en attaquent les croyances, les préceptes, les rites ou les enseignements, est puni d’une peine d’emprisonnement d’un an au maximum et d’une amende ne dépassant pas 1 000 roupies, ou de l’un de ces deux peines.
