Is of the opinion that the current Employment Strategy, as recently reshaped, with its balanced institutional approach which grants an important role of initiative to the Commission and guarantees EP involvement is an efficient instrument for fostering employment in the European Union; believes furthermore that the Employment Committee established by virtue of Article 130 of the EC Treaty is best placed to assess employment issues, and that therefore there is no need to increase bureaucracy by creating a new Task Force on Employment in the Council: calls on the Council to limit the mandate of such a task force and to report to the EP on its work;

Entende que a actual Estratégia de Emprego, recentemente formulada, com a sua abordagem institucional equilibrada garantindo um importante papel de iniciativa à Comissão e à participação do PE constitui um instrumento eficaz de promoção do emprego na União Europeia; entende, além disso, que o Comité do Emprego (COEM), criado nos termos do artigo 130o do Tratado e composto por representantes dos Estados‐Membros e da Comissão, é o mais bem habilitado a avaliar as questões do emprego, não havendo, por conseguinte, a necessidade de aumentar a burocracia criando um novo grupo de trabalho sobre emprego no Conselho; exorta o Conselho a limitar o mandato de tal grupo de trabalho e a informar o PE sobre a sua actividade;

Europaparlamentet anser att den nyligen ändrade sysselsättningsstrategin, och dess balanserade institutionella metod som ger kommissionen en viktig roll i fråga om initiativ och säkrar Europaparlamentets aktiva medverkan, utgör ett effektivt instrument för att främja sysselsättningen i EU. Vidare anser parlamentet att den sysselsättningskommitté som inrättats i enlighet med artikel 130 i fördraget är det bästa forumet för att dryfta sysselsättningsfrågor och att det således är onödigt att öka byråkratin genom att skapa en ny specialgrupp för sysselsättning inom rådet. Parlamentet uppmanar därför rådet att besluta om att specialgruppen skall ha begränsade uppgifter och rapportera till parlamentet om sitt arbete.
