أن توفر التشجيع والدعم للرجال والبنين للمشاركة مشاركة فعّالة في منع جميع أشكال العنف والقضاء عليها، لا سيما العنف القائم على أساس نوع الجنس، بما في ذلك العنف في سياق فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية/الإيدز، وأن تزيد التوعية بمسؤولية الرجال والبنين في كسر دائرة العنف، وذلك بطرق منها تشجيع التغيير في المواقف والسلوك، والتثقيف والتدريب اللذان يوليان الأولوية لسلامة النساء والأطفال، ومقاضاة مرتكبي أعمال العنف وإعادة تأهيلهم، ودعم الناجين من العنف؛

To encourage and support men and boys to take an active part in the prevention and elimination of all forms of violence, and especially gender-based violence, including in the context of HIV/AIDS, and to increase awareness of men’s and boys’ responsibility in ending the cycle of violence, inter alia through the promotion of attitudinal and behavioural change, integrated education and training that prioritize the safety of women and children, prosecution and rehabilitation of perpetrators, and support for survivors;

Alienten y apoyen a hombres y jóvenes a asumir una función activa en la prevención y eliminación de todas las formas de violencia, y especialmente la violencia en razón del género, en particular en el contexto del VIH/SIDA, y aumenten la concienciación sobre la responsabilidad de hombres y mujeres en lo tocante a poner fin al ciclo de la violencia, entre otras cosas, mediante la promoción del cambio de las conductas y actitudes, la educación y capacitación integradas que den prioridad a la integridad de la mujer y la infancia, el enjuiciamiento y rehabilitación de los autores y el apoyo a los supervivientes;
