However, act No. 17,343 of June 2001 covers the following activities: terrorism; contraband in excess of US$ 20,000; illegal trafficking in weapons, explosives, ammunition or material relating to their production; illegal trafficking in men, women or children; illegal trafficking in nuclear substances, works of art, animals or explosives; extortion; procurement; and kidnapping and is applicable even if the act giving rise to the said goods, products or instruments was committed outside the country, provided that the offence in question is punishable both in the place in which it was committed and in Uruguay.

17.343 de JUNIO/2001, incorpora las siguientes actividades: terrorismo, contrabando superior a U$S 20.000, tráfico ilícito de armas, explosivos, municiones o material distando a su producción, tráfico ilícito de hombres, mujeres y niños, tráfico ilícito de sustancias nucleares, obras de arte, animales, materiales explosivos, extorsión, proxenetismo y secuestro, aplicable aun cuando el hecho antecedente origen de los bienes, productos o instrumentos hubiera sido cometido en el extranjero, en tanto el mismo delito hubiera estado penado en el lugar de su comisión y en Uruguay.

США, незаконная торговля оружием, взрывчатыми веществами, боеприпасами или материалами, предназначенными для их производства, незаконная торговля мужчинами, женщинами и детьми, незаконная торговля ядерными веществами, произведениями искусства, животными, взрывчатыми материалами, вымогательство, сутенерство и похищение людей, действие закона применяется к средствам, продуктам или ценным бумагам, которые находились за рубежом, при этом за одно и то же деяние может быть вынесено наказание как в месте его совершения, так и в Уругвае.
