As the Samaritan woman at the well, on hearing the Lord speak of water that would satisfy once for all, had begged impulsively and with thought only of physical convenience, “Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw,”i so these people, eager to secure so satisfying a food as that of which Jesus spake, implored: “Lord, evermore give us this bread.”

Igual que la mujer samaritana junto al pozo, al oír que el Señor hablaba de agua que la satisfaría para siempre, cuando solicitó impulsivamente, pensando sólo en la comodidad física: “Señor, dame esa agua, para que no tenga yo sed, ni venga aquí a sacarla”,j en igual manera esta gente, deseosa de obtener esa comida tan satisfaciente de que Jesús hablaba, le imploraron: “Señor, danos siempre este pan.”

Como a mulher samaritana junto ao poço, ao ouvir o Senhor falar de água que mataria a sede para sempre, havia pedido impulsivamente pensando apenas na conveniência física: “Senhor, dá-me dessa água, para que não mais tenha sede, e não venha aqui tirá-la”i assim também aquelas pessoas, ansiosas de assegurar alimento tão satisfatório como aquele do qual Jesus falava, imploraram: “Senhor, dá-nos sempre desse pão.”
