Under OSPAR(3) Recommendation 2003/4(4), Contracting Parties, including Spain, have reported on the load of mercury dispersed into the environment from crematoria, on the measures that have been and will be taken to reduce significantly mercury loads from the crematoria entering the environment and have acknowledged that mercury abatement and removal techniques including the best available techniques, should be the norm.

Las Partes contratantes del Convenio OSPAR(3), entre ellas España, han informado, con arreglo a su Recomendación 2003/4(4), sobre la carga de mercurio que dispersan en el medio ambiente los crematorios, así como sobre las medidas que han tomado y seguirán tomando a fin de reducir significativamente las cargas de mercurio procedentes de los crematorios que entran en el medio ambiente, y han reconocido que las técnicas de reducción de emisiones y eliminación de mercurio, incluidas las mejores técnicas disponibles, deben ser la norma.
