Möge das internationale Elisabeth-Jahr für die Ungarn, für die Deutschen und für alle Europäer eine äußerst günstige Gelegenheit sein, das von den Vätern empfangene christliche Erbe hervorzuheben, um auch weiterhin aus diesen Wurzeln den Lebenssaft zu ziehen, der nötig ist, damit sie in dem seit kurzer Zeit begonnenen neuen Jahrtausend reichlich Frucht bringen.

May the International Year of Elizabeth be an especially favourable opportunity to highlight for Hungarians, Germans and all Europeans the Christian heritage they have received from their ancestors, so that they may continue to draw from these roots the necessary nourishment for abundant fruitfulness in the new millennium which recently began.
