Pompeii is a few miles away from Rome and was a sprawling civilization that got destroyed by the Mt. Vesuvius explosion in 79 AD. This place is a Heritage Site and offers a complete insight into the life and culture of the Romans at Pompeii before the disaster. Valuable antiques, ruins and the excavations form most of the part of Pompeii. The most popular excavation sites are The Great Palaestra, the Amphitheatre and the Temple of Apollo among others.
