The topics of discussion were the 2,4 miles swim in the ocean at Waikiki, the 112 miles cycle race on the island of Ohahu and the marathon run of Honolulu. With the hours going by and the alcohol consumed increasingly, and also due to the fact that no sports discipline could have been agreed upon, the breaking idea came that the toughest sportsman would the one who is able to achieve all three disciplines in the shortest time possible.
