ولقد أدى عدم اكتراث مجلس الأمن بنداءات إريتريا المستمرة وفشله في اتخاذ الإجراء السليم ضد نظام الحكم في أديس أبابا لقيامه، مع التأييد الضمني لمسانديه، باحتلال أراض خاضعة لسيادتنا انتهاكا لاتفاق السلام وسيادة القانون والمعايير الراسخة للسلوك الدولي - أدى فعلا إلى تشجيع نظام الحكم على ارتكاب أفعال أكثر خطورة.

The failure of the Security Council to heed Eritrea’s continuous appeals and to take appropriate action against the Addis Ababa regime for its occupation, with the tacit support of its backers, of our sovereign territories in violation of the peace agreement, the rule of law and established norms of international behaviour has indeed encouraged the latter to indulge in graver acts.

El hecho de que el Consejo de Seguridad haya hecho caso omiso de los continuos llamamientos de Eritrea y no haya adoptado medidas adecuadas contra el régimen de Addis Abeba por haber ocupado, con el apoyo tácito de quienes lo apoyan, nuestros territorios soberanos, contraviniendo el acuerdo de paz, el estado de derecho y las normas establecidas de conducta internacional, ha animado a ese régimen a cometer actos más graves.

Le Conseil de sécurité ne donnant pas suite aux appels constamment lancés par l’Érythrée et ne prenant pas les mesures qui s’imposent contre le régime d’Addis-Abeba en raison de l’occupation par celui-ci, avec l’appui tacite de ses défenseurs, de nos territoires souverains en violation de l’accord de paix, de la primauté du droit et des normes établies de comportement sur la scène internationale, ledit régime a été encouragé à s’adonner à des agissements plus graves.

Неспособность Совета Безопасности откликнуться на неоднократные призывы Эритреи и принять надлежащие меры в отношении аддис-абебского режима в связи с осуществляемой при молчаливой поддержке его приспешников оккупации наших суверенных территорий в нарушение положений Мирного соглашения, правопорядка и установленных норм международного поведения фактически поощряла этот режим к совершению таких опасных действий.
